Living like Dicken's character...

After 8 people before me have got a seat on the flight to London, I realized the standby ticket career is grim. So, it is time to find a nice spot to lie down. I have found a long waiting chair without armrest, great view facing the window, quiet since it is near the praying room, if I am gonna settle myself in HK, this is definitely the right spot. The next flight to Heathrow is 11 hours away. Set my alarm for 8 hours beauty sleep. Pulled out my warm jacket and made a small pillow. All set. Then a man in suits came to me and said "Ms. Chung, there is one more spot in flight, will you take your belonging and come with me?" Packed in the speed of light, passed the custom, and then happily studied the safety instruction card in my 33 J seat.

Two hours later. A flight attendant came apologetically to me and said "Ms. Chung, do you mind switching to Business class? There is a couple (by the way, I have sat next to the couple while we were waiting to board. He is an English man who marries a Filipino lady. She is perhaps 7 months pregnant and has a inclination to ignore whatever her husband said.) who is not willing to sit apart..." Certainly, I don't mind suffering from moving to Business class. And there I was, lying down in my own compartment and sipping Evian fizzy mineral water. Imaging if I were Pip (of Great Expectation): a young man without money and expectation and all of a sudden, he has it all. He didn't know the mysterious hand of fate and chance are playing with him like cats with mice.

After 10 comfy hours, I landed in London. Chatting away in Mark's living room, in the backside of my head, I'm imaging another Finn who just wakes up in the HK airport and thinking what is ahead of her.
